A Journey into Sound, Stillness, and Sovereignty

In the quiet embrace of winter, we gather at The Thyme — a sanctuary nestled in the Berkshire mountains — for a three-day immersion into the ancient art and practice of Himalayan singing bowls.

Guided by the teachers of The Sound School: David Shemesh and Nada Das, this program invites both new and seasoned practitioners to explore the fundamentals of sound as a path of awareness, healing, and creative expression.

Through hands-on learning, participants will engage deeply with these multidimensional instruments — listening, feeling, and attuning to the subtleties of vibration and resonance. The weekend will include both theory and embodied practice:

  • The physical and acoustical properties of Himalayan singing bowls

  • Techniques of striking and singing, with various mallets and tonal intentions

  • Listening and identifying overtones, harmonics, and beats

  • Understanding the body as an instrument of resonance and awareness

  • Foundations for flow-state improvisation and spontaneous expression

  • Structure and flow for personal and group sound meditations

This immersion is open to all who feel called to the study of sound — from musicians and wellness practitioners to those simply curious about the language of vibration. Together, we’ll explore how sound can soften the mind, steady the heart, and reawaken our natural harmony with life.

Space is limited to ensure personalized guidance and hands-on exploration.
